A flight from Johannesburg has crashed near Tripoli, and there is only one survivor left from the Libyan plane crash. The plane, an Airbus A330 200, was carrying 104 aboard. There were reported to be foggy conditions, but the reason for the crash is yet to be determined. Foul play is not suspected, but rest assured that fast cash can be thrown into investigating the cause.
Libyan plane crash occurred on regular stop
The Libyan plane crash took place just outside an international airport in Tripoli. A stop in Tripoli is par for the course for the flight route, which ran from Johannesburg, South Africa, to London. The stop was typical with a short layover before continuing to its next destination. At least one of the passengers was confirmed as being British. Of the 93 passengers and 11 crew members, only one survivor was found in the wreckage.
Lone Dutch child survives ordeal
Only one person survived, a young Dutch Boy, according to the Christian Science Monitor. Afriyiqah Airlines Flight 771 was an Airbus A330 200, a mid size liner comparable to a Boeing 767. It is unknown where all the passengers were from or who they were.
The plane not to blame
The Airbus A330-200 is not the Ford Pinto of the sky, but this isn’t the first time it has been involved or implicated in a fatal crash. The plane crashed just short of the runway and disintegrated. Four fatal incidents are attributed to this model of airplane, according to the Aviation Safety Network, but only 3 were crashes. A hijacker on one of these planes jumped out of the aircraft after it had re-pressurized and was killed. (Smart individuals aren’t radicals, if you know what I mean.) Libyan authorities will investigate.
